Employment of massage therapists is expected to grow by 23% through 2022, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. At ECPI University, students can earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Massage Therapy in just 1.5 years through a year-round schedule.
Students receive comprehensive education on both the medical and rehabilitative effects of massage therapy through classes taught by instructors with extensive real-world experience. ECPI University’s comprehensive curriculum includes hands-on clinical experience through externships and allows students to deliver patient care for people in various stages of health.
After successfully completing this program, students may apply to the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) to take the National Certification Exam. Upon passing this exam, students may apply to the Virginia Board of Nursing for certification as a massage therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
